However, the need for additional endowment support remains. Continuing to build the ASO’s endowment ensures the ASO’s continued quality and stability. Contributions to the endowment may be unrestricted or designated for specific funds. All gifts to the ASO are tax-deductible as allowed by federal law.
Commemorative Naming Opportunities
The ASO encourages unrestricted contributions, which provide the greatest long-term flexibility in achieving artistic goals and maintaining artistic excellence. General purpose gifts to the endowment may name a fund or chair in perpetuity or for a lesser amount, name a chair for a term of 10 years. A variety of commemorative opportunities are listed to the right.
Outright Gifts
Outright gifts to the endowment provide the ASO with immediately available and much needed investment income. These contributions can be fulfilled by pledge payment over three years, continually adding to the endowment.
Planned Gifts
Life income gifts are an excellent way for donors to make a substantial contribution, receive income for the rest of their lives, and be recognized by the Orchestra in perpetuity. Charitable trusts and pooled income fund gifts designate present assets for the future benefit of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and provide income and tax benefits for the donors. In addition, bequests, or provisions for the Orchestra in wills or trusts, also enable donors to provide meaningful gifts to the endowment.
The present value of any approved planned gift, irrevocably naming the ASO as charitable beneficiary, will be considered for named gift recognition purposes. Please see the Henry Sopkin Circle for additional information.
